Want to know the real Jesus Christ?
NEXT STEPS
Leaving Mormonism—or even beginning to doubt its teachings—
can be an overwhelming and disorienting experience.
The weight of traditions, family expectations, and years of ingrained doctrine can make it difficult to discern what is true. Many who step away from the LDS Church experience a crisis of faith, wondering if they can ever fully trust God again. However, for those who seek Christ in His Word alone, the journey leads to a faith that is no longer dependent on institutions, prophets, or extra-biblical revelation.
Instead of a works-based system, the Gospel offers freedom in Christ—
a relationship founded not on temple ordinances or priesthood authority,
but on grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). The burden of proving one’s worthiness is lifted, replaced by the assurance of salvation in Jesus,
who declared on the cross: “It is finished” (John 19:30).
True faith is not found in secret doctrines or additional scriptures,
but in the sufficiency of Jesus Christ and His unchanging Word.
Read the Bible!
The Bible invites every person to test what they hear.

“These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.”
(Acts 17:11)
Take time to read the Bible for yourself. Ask honest questions. Compare teachings with Scripture.
If you have been reading our 21 Day Challenge, continue working through it slowly and carefully, checking each point against the Bible.

Many misunderstandings about Christian teaching come from verses being taken out of context.
Try reading entire chapters and passages rather than isolated verses. Pay attention to:
-
Who is speaking
-
Who the passage is written to
-
The wider message of the Bible
Scripture interprets Scripture, and the message of the Bible is consistent.
Find a Church
The Christian life was never meant to be lived in isolation.
Look for a church that faithfully teaches the Bible and holds Scripture as the final authority. A healthy church will:
-
Preach the Bible clearly
-
Teach sound doctrine
-
Encourage prayer and discipleship
-
Focus on Jesus Christ and the gospel
Being part of a Bible-believing church will help you grow in understanding and provide the fellowship and encouragement that every believer needs.
Remove Yourself From LDS Records
Resigning from the Mormon Church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) can be a tedious and sometimes painful process.

If you have decided that you no longer wish to be a member, attempting to resign on your own can sometimes lead to unwanted contact from church leaders and repeated requests before your resignation is finally processed.

A free service called QuitMormon allows individuals to submit their resignation without the hassle, helping you complete the process clearly and directly.
You can begin the process here:
